Hot aisle / cold aisle is the layout design of server racks and other computing devices in the data center. The hot channel cold channel construction aims to save energy and reduce cooling costs by managing air flow.

The simple data center hot channel cold channel design is to arrange the server racks in a cross row, with the inlet of cold air facing one side and the outlet of hot air facing the other side. The row formed by the front end of the rack is called the cold channel. Normally, the cold channel faces the output duct of the air conditioner. The row of hot air output is called hot channel. Generally, the hot channel faces the return air duct of the air conditioner.

The closed system can be used to isolate hot aisles and cold aisles to prevent mixing of hot and cold air. The closed system acts like a physical barrier, separating the hot channel from the cold channel with vinyl plastic plate or plexiglass. The supplier provides ventilation rooms and other commercial options to combine closed systems with variable fan drive (VFD) to prevent mixing of cold and hot air. Distribution cabinet installation
